UNITED STATES PRESIDENTS
Bob Short, 6 Sessions, Tuesdays, September 18 - October 23, 3:15 pm - 5:15 pm
Nearly 100 historians and biographer have rated United States presidents on 10 qualities of presidential leadership and have chosen our country’s 12 best. The personal histories, personalities and political values will be the subject of a special series of lectures hosted by political historian and campaign consultant Bob Short during the Institute for Continuing Learning’s fall semester. The course will focus on the formative years of the selectees, their triumphs and disappointments and, most importantly, their role in shaping the history of our nation. Bob is the author of an award-winning book on Georgia politics and creator of an oral history series entitled “Reflections on Georgia Politics” for Young Harris College’s Zell and Shirley Miller Library.
After retiring in 2001, Bob Short returned to his native north Georgia mountains to concentrate on preserving Georgia's political history. He became the creator of an oral history series entitled "Reflections on Georgia Politics" for Young Harris College's Zell and Shirley Miller Library and the Richard B. Russell Library For Political Studies and Research at the University of Georgia.
